Switzerland
Here you'll find my adventures in Switzerland (primarily Geneva and Nyon), both in clustered excursions as well as sporadic finds

Today I arrived in Geneva! After a long plane ride, we landed around 7am and immediately were thrown into the whirlwind of the French speaking masses. After checking into our hotel, Hotel D'Angleterre, we decided to grab a coffee at a nearby café. We then took a short boat ride across the lake to historic Geneva, where we bought our first official Swiss chocolates. After that we meandered back to our hotel, awaiting our much anticipated dinner and even more anticipated nights sleep. Bonsoir!

Today I met up with the rest of my group in Nyon! We made our way to our *humble* youth hostel where we went through some orientation materials and then were given free time to explore the city. We came across a castle overlooking a beautiful lake, and got to get to know each other a little better! We also had the chance to go into Geneva, explore the local area and even took a ferry to France for dinner.

Bonjour! This weekend consisted of my official move into my homestay in a flat in Nyon. My homestay mother, Suzan, lives just outside of the main city, a 10 minute walk from where I attend my classes. After my arrival we traveled to the waterside, and she showed me around the city a little bit. In this gallery is where I will post most pictures from my day-to-day occurrences, save for when I take special trips or have a particular update in mine. 1 day down, 100 more to go!

Hello! This collection of pictures is from my first real few weeks in Switzerland– some highlights have been our hike of Rochers de Naye, and of course a gluttonous trip to Gruyeres (LOTS of cheese and chocolate). These weeks have been a whirlwind, and it’s crazy how it feels like there are hundreds of hours in a single day here, yet each week seems to come to an end after the blink of an eye. Next weekend’s adventure is Interlaken– see you there! xx
Interlaken
Hi everyone! This weekend was my first weekend available for travel since arriving in Switzerland, so we decided to take a 2 day trip to the beloved Junfrau region. Our first day consisted of perusing the charming chocolate shops in Interlaken, followed by a night in the Balmer’s Hostel (highly recommend if ever visiting the Interlake area). On Saturday we continued our exploration of Interlaken, taking in the views from the famous Harder Kulm, and then mid day made the trip to the neighboring Lauterbrunnen (known for it’s iconic waterfalls). Although the views here were already breathtaking, we decided to take a short cable car up to the car-less town of Mürren, where we enjoyed breaking cliff scenes and amazing food at Eiger Guesthouse. We finally made our way back down to where we were staying, the Valley Hostel, to get some rest. Sunday morning began with a sluggish 6:30am wake up call and we made our way back into Interlaken to paraglide over the magnificent clouds with crisp mountain air. Now, back to Geneva for a full week at school– bis zum nächsten Mal! xx
